Once you know the amount of product you need, your rate of making mistakes decreases. In this way, you can shop at a lower cost with less material.
Step 2: Prepare the Ground for Artificial Grass Installation
First of all, the ground preparation needs to be done. If there is artificial grass on the ground that you have used before, it must first be removed from the ground. After the old artificial turf is removed, a 40 mm deep ground should be prepared for the new one. In this step, you can use a flat shovel or for larger areas mechanical turf cutter.
In addition, if you want to remove the pre-existing grass more easily, water it a few days before dismantling. The grass or artificial turf you irrigate will be easily dislodged. The only thing you should be careful about is not to water too much. If you water too much, the ground will become mud and therefore the operation becomes difficult.
Also, if there was natural grass on the ground, make sure that its roots are completely cleared from the ground. The ground preparation phase is a bit tiring, so do this step without being too exposed to sunlight.
Adım 3: Laying Base of Granit Dust
After the ground is prepared, the ground covering is started. A layer of sand to a depth of 35 mm is spread over the base.
This sand layer is a layer consisting of very fine stones and 90% of which is sand. After the sand layer is spread over the ground, it is compacted.
You can use heavy builders plan kor for larger areas use a powered vibrating plate compactor.
Then concrete is poured into the ground. At this stage, make sure that the floor is dry and clean. No geotextile will be required on a concrete basis. After that, you can pass the laying the weed membrane step.
Step 4: Laying The Weed Membrane
Weed membrane is not a necessary process for artificial turf installation. It is applied on granite sand only to prevent possible natural grass formation. This weed membrane, prepared in the form of a roll, is easily laid on the sand layer.
Step 5: Laying Artificial Grass
After you reach this stage, you can have some rest. Because you’ve finished the hardest part of artificial grass laying. After this stage, you can easily install the artificial turf that you bought as a roll.
Make sure that all the edges of the artificial grass are the same as the area. Make sure that all the individual parts are aligned and overlap 300mm. Take the artificial grass and spread it evenly over the entire area for a neat look. After laying the artificial turf, let it rest for 24 hours. During this time the grass will get used to the ground.
Step 6: Trimming
After resting the artificial grass for a day, you can cut off the excess edges of the grass using a knife or scissors. To be able to cut the excess edges more easily, fold the excess grass carpet and cut it by holding the edge tightly. Do not make a crooked cut at this stage. Because you have bought artificial turf in an appropriate amount for your area and do not forget that you do not have much grass. You can cover the areas you see crooked with the small excess pieces you cut and make a proper installation.
Step 7: Making Neat Joins
Cut and cleaned artificial turf carpet can now be combined. Put the white binding tape between the artificial turf carpet and the floor. Secure the artificial grass carpet to the jointing tape using a few pins. To prevent the jointing tape from slipping, you can fix the edges with nails. Then apply the glue and stick the artificial turf carpet. Do this gradually. Do not stick quickly so that the artificial turf is cooled in a proportioned and controlled manner. Allow 24 hours for it to dry.
Step 8: Edge Fixing
Pin the edges using 150 mm galvanized ground pins. With this process, you will fix the edges. In this way, the artificial grass will not move and you will be able to move on it easily. Especially if you have a dog, you should do the edge fixing process well. Because dogs can damage the edges with their nails.
Step 9: Adding Granules
In the finishing phase, all edges are cut, straightened and the artificial turf ground is fixed. All excesses occurring while leveling the ground are removed. Now, at this stage, granules should be added to the artificial grass ground. With the granule reinforcement, the artificial turf is well fixed on the ground and the indentation on the ground is prevented.
Step 10: Brushing
After adding granules, the artificial grass is brushed with artificial grass brushers. At this stage, both the floor takes their final form and becomes ready for use.
Your artificial turf carpet floor is ready for use. Now you can have a good time with your family and loved ones in your garden, which is covered with artificial turf carpet.
